Fab Find

I came across this gorgeous blog over Christmas and have since spent days trying to find it! I follow way too many blogs it seems.  I'm trying to sort them and put them in categories but it's proving to be very time consuming, something I don't have much of now that I'm back at college.

I digress.

Here's a few images from the fabulous Dorothea, a Norwegian shop selling all sorts of gorgeousness.

I think the last three are of wallpaper. I'm not entirely sure as my google translate won't translate some of the links.  Anyone out there speak Norwegian??  It doesn't really matter as the pictures speak a thousand words.  Well two at least ... buy me!

Ok I'm off to see if they ship to Ireland.
Failing that I see a possible trip to Norway.

Hope you're all having a good Monday x

Flower Corsage Tutorial

As promised, here's a little tutorial on how to make the corsage I showed when I was on Four Live last week.

Start by cutting out 7 'u shaped' pieces of fabric (I used scraps from an old blanket, use anything you want, felt or wool are particularly good for this type of corsage)

Take one of the petals and using your fingers squeeze the bottom part together and stitch together with a couple of stitches

Without cutting the thread, take another petal and stitch the bottom part in the same way as above

Continue until all pieces are stitched together (see below).
Pull the thread tightly and if it still feels loose add a few more stitches to secure.

Turn the brooch over and sew on a button.  (Note - you can use either side of the corsage, I like both)

Cut another piece of fabric into a small circular shape (use the top off a bottle as a template or a coin).

Stitch this to the back of the corsage and glue a brooch fitting onto this.

Voila - a lovely corsage to pin on your cardi, your coat, your hat, your jacket, a cushion .......... ok you get the picture :o)

Enjoy!

Autumn Wardrobe

I have to say this is my favourite time of year clothes-wise.  I just LOVE all the autumn colours, the winter woolies - especially cashmere, the chunky socks and boots and I get to wear my numerous hats and scarves.

I've already purchased a few items ...

This gorgeous top from Debenhams - it's on sale now, I totally recommend it.  It's the softest cotton and sooooo comfortable !!

The picture on the site doesn't do it justice.  Here's a pic of me wearing it ... today, not that I'm saying that's any better :o)

These fab boots, also from Debenhams ...

I also got a gorgeous prairie skirt in the Dorothy Perkins Sale which looks fab with the boots (if I say so myself).  Can't find a pic at the mo though.

I'm lusting after these too ...

Trinny & Susannah would be balking at me wearing this jumper but I think it's gorgeous.  It's from one of my fav shops, Joules.
Of course as it's autumn one needs wellies ... and one really wants these wellies !!

This skirt is super cute too.
Right, I'm off to pack away my summer clothes and get ready for autumn.  I'm pretty sure I have a denim skirt in there somewhere ... of course it will fit ... hmmm maybe I should go for a walk first and perhaps leave that chocolate biscuit back ... oh but not the hot chocolate ... a little of what you fancy is ok, right girls?

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend :o)

Afternoon at the movies

I had a few hours to kill yesterday (yes, lucky me) so I went to a matinee at the movies and seen this.

Wow, what a lovely lovely film.

Not only was the storyline great but it was full of little gems with scenes in IKEA, sketching, a chalk drawn headboard and best of all fab vintage dresses (and wait until you see Summer's quirky apartment).

This is a snapshot from this fab site where you can buy clothes "as seen on screen".
