Come Bake with Me

It's scone time at the cottage ... again!

You can find the recipe here.

So here goes, step by step with pictures ...

Step 1 (above) weigh out the flour.

Step 2 (below) add bread soda & bicarb

Step 3  (completely optional) Smile and pose for the camera

Step 4 - weigh out your margarine.  If like me, you're rubbish at maths i.e. converting grams and ounces, this could take a few mins.

Step 5 - add the marg to the bowl and rub into the flour until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs

Step 6 - Add some of the egg to the buttermilk

Step 7 - Pour the wet into the dry ingredients and shape your hand like a claw to mix them all together.

Step 8 - Once you have mixed it all place the mixture on a floured board and knead gently

Step 8 - Roll out the mixture and cut into whatever shape you wish.  Place the scones onto a lightly floured baking tray.

Step 9 brush with the remaining egg mix
Step 10 - (pose optional) place in pre-heated oven and wait ...

Come back tomorrow for the results

Tease ?

Me?

Thank you so much to my lovely friend Sarah for spending the day at the cottage photographing me for the new website and brochure :O)
