Covered match boxes

I know I have so much to do and here I am wasting time covering match boxes!!

However it's quick and you have to admit they are cute.

So if you fancy doing the same to yours here's how you go about it

You will need

match boxes
cardboard
glue
wrapping paper
scissors

  • Use the matchbox to trace a template onto the cardboard
  • Place the cut pieces of cardboard onto the wrong side of the wrapping paper and glue in place, folding the edges over neatly.

  1. Apply glue to the matchbox top and fix the first covered piece of cardboard in place, do the same on the other side.
  2. Voila - cute covered matchboxes.

If you're really particular (I was) you can make a matchbox from scratch and cover it entirely. Then cut the sandpaper bit (for lighting the matches) from the original box and stick it on your new one.
